The materials I use today can be traced back to my early childhood memories of texture and form. As a little girl I often observed my mom designing and sketching her own dresses. This experience created a lasting love and appreciation for color, texture and design.
My paintings are acrylic media on canvas. I use layers of paint and gel to create a variety of textural surfaces. Sand and modeling paste are applied with a palette knife to build an impasto. Overlays of gold leaf, lace and rice papers are layered and fused with a heavy gel medium.
